晴れのち曇り。朝家事は拭き掃除と買い物。亀有生協にないリード・クッキング・ペーパーなるものを買ってこいと云われ白鳥生協まで出かけた。帰途、白鳥の都住で猫に食事を与えている同年輩の旦那さんをみとめた。黒とキジトラの2匹で旦那によれば黒猫はなつこいがキジトラは馴れないとのこと。旦那がひっこんだあと、2匹にスナックをあげてみた。よそ者を相手にしている割りにはそばまで来て食べていた。どこの都住にも猫好きがいるらしい。

昼飯喰って、一息入れて、散歩。先ず、ワカちゃんを訪ねた。不在のようだったが、少し待ってみたら現れた。まだ警戒は解かないが、今日は正座した。団地にいたなつかぬフーコに比べればワカちゃんの方が遥かに親人的といえよう。
そこから「ときわ食堂」へ歩き、ゲソの刺身で一杯致す。二日空けてのアルコールは少量でもよく効いて夕飯の手伝いが億劫になる。帰りにお稲荷さんに二十円献納しポックリをお願いした。コンちゃんは丸まったままで無反応。クロちゃんを訪ねカツオ風味を進呈、完食。
帰宅して、洗濯物を取り込み、蕪と鶏の煮物を作り、鰤を焼く。
願いごとーポックリ御陀仏。知らずに仏。

Back in 2017, our listener David wrote to us from Columbia. He wanted to know if plant could talk. David’s question took us underground, into the hidden world beneath our feet where plants are connected to each other by fungi, an intricated network of cooperation, conflict and communication, called the wood wide web. But it turns out the wood wide web barely scratch the surface when it comes to how incredibly weird and wonderful fungi really are. So in this episode, we are delving in even deeper into their strange world, and seeing just how intertwined it is with the rest of life on earth.

Fungi are everywhere, but they are easy to miss. They are inside you and around you. They sustain you, and you depend on. As you hear these words. Fungi are changing the way that life happens as they have done more than a billion years. They are eating rock, making soil, digesting pollutants, manipulating animal behavior and influencing the compositions of the earth's atmosphere.

One of the basic reasons is that fungi are neglected and I wanted to write something that would invite people to consider these organisms more. Fungi intersect with so many aspects to the living world, and it's hard to think about fungi without also thinking about all the other organisms that they spend their lives enmeshed with. And all different ways they interacted with human over the course of our history.
