晴れ。立冬で木枯し１号だそうだ。朝家事は拭き掃除と生協への買い物。
義妹夫婦が函館へ旅したとかで義妹が土産
を届けてくれた。わが家とは生き方が違う。
昼飯を喰って、そそくさと一息入れてアリオへお使いに出かける。ミッションは紀伊国屋書店で誠文堂新光社から出版される『藤井旭の天文年鑑2025年版』の予約をすることとヨーカ堂の家庭用品売場で俎板に敷いて使うシートの購入である。
ミッションに先立ち、風呂屋の裏の公園の日溜まりにワカちゃんを訪ねた。今日は日向ぼっこしていてすぐに近寄ってきた。もういつでも触れるところにいるが、ここで警戒させてはいけないのでそばにたったままで見ている。
で、そこから二丁目のさくら通りを環七まで歩き、江北橋通りとの交差点を渡りアリオに入る。先ず、イトーヨーカ堂3階の家庭用品売場に上がったが改装工事中で営業休止中。で、2階に下りて、紀伊国屋書店に行き所望の天文年鑑の予約を滞りなく終えた。書籍の題名は『藤井旭の天文年鑑』となっているが、同氏は一昨年に逝去され、書店の著者データも変わっていた。
ついでに英和中辞典を内偵してみた。研究社の中辞典はなく、ジーニアスが積んであり、内点(内容点検)用に1冊開いて置いてあったので検分いたした。ポイントがやや大きいので見やすいが、ボリュームが増えているのは用例解説と例文がやたら入れてあるからで、それは私の望むところではなく、現在使用中の机の狭さにも合った2000年版の三省堂エクシードでこと足りると結論した。
英和辞典の在庫は貧弱だったが、古語辞典は大河の影響か英和より充実している。

で、用務を終わりお茶にしようと紀伊国屋書店の前の珈琲の自販機の置いてある休憩所に入って、注意書きを確認した。アルコールを飲まなければ食物はよろしいとなっているので、1階のイトーヨーカ堂食品売場に下りてチーズスフレを買い、それと珈琲で本日のお茶会と致した。スフレも珈琲も美味しかったが、人が多くて落ち着かず。やはり野点がいい。
で、アリオを出て、二丁目の裏通りから一丁目の消防署通りを歩いたが、そこで白黒の猫が面前を横切った。呼び止めたら安全な距離を保ちながらもこちらを見ていて、カバンからスナックを取り出そうとしたら、察しよく近寄ってきた。若いがなかなか人間観察力のある猫だ。柵越しにスナックを食べてくれたがいい猫だ。そこからお稲荷さんにお詣りし、世捨ての成就とポックリをお願い致す。コンちゃんは無反応。
図書館でトイレを拝借し、クロちゃん宅に伺う。今日もお留守かと思ったら草むらの端から出て来て親愛の情をたっぷりと示してくれた。カツオ風味を完食。出口のそばまで送ってくれてホロリとする。
門限の3時半ギリギリに帰宅し、洗濯物を取り込み、牛肉(切り落とし)を焼く。
月がキレイだから見ようと誘われ拝む。

But, of course, for the vast majority of our species’ history, around five hundred thousands years we didn't farm our food. We hunted prey and we gathered plants from our environment. We were hunter gathers. So what changed? When and how did we actually start domesticating wild plants? For ???(1)??? answer to that, may lie in the genes.

OK. So that’s a really good question. In a way, it's a bit loaded question, because it presupposes that there was one person involved. What the data are telling us is that the activities that led to domestication and farming go way way way back in time, farther than the first farmers. So what we can see is that the evidence for selection which we can see in genome of archeological plant ???(1)??? genetical information in that plant is that probably we are talking twenty to thirty thousands years ago when people were gathering plants from the wild, they were having an effect that would eventually lead to domestication.

So when we actually see domestic type of pairing in archeological record is tens of thousands years after this first selection occurs, around twelve thousands years ago.

It seems farming didn't come about one day because somebody decided to put seed into the ground
like Brian was imaging. Instead, people were gradually changing the genes of plants they were eating, many thousands of years before they began to actually farm them. So what were those early humans doing, and how did they transform those initially wild plants.
